Even in just seven games, Cameron Brink made a massive impact for the Los Angeles Sparks’ push for a playoff spot. A return from the ACL injury was impressive enough that the 23-year-old star made some eye-catching gameplays as if she had never left. But recently she left the court midway through a game against the New York Liberty.
With her ankles hurt, it was again a primary concern for the Sparks’ fanbase. Ahead of the game against the Dallas Wings, the LA franchise provided an update on the 2024 rookie.
The LA Sparks Provide Cameron Brink Injury Update
Just before halftime, the former Stanford player left the court, hurting her ankle. She returned midway through the third quarter but did not play against the defending champions. The questionable decision from the HC raised many questions over her availability and the seriousness of the injury.
Head Coach mentioned that she didn’t get time to talk to the doctors, but decided to put her on a minute restriction against the Liberty team. With no clear answer over Cameron Brink’s injury, fans had to wait for the update from the team, considering a game against the Dallas Wings on August 15.
As per the new update, the star forward is not on the team’s injury report against the Wings. This hints at her possible inclusion in the rotation. The spokesperson further added that the player will remain on a minute restriction, though.

She's played 13 minutes a game since her return (7 GP) on July 29.
Camron Brink clocked 13 minutes per game for the LA side so far and has already made a few records in her short stint. HC Lynne Roberts was happy with the youngster’s performance so far and was willing to hand more responsibility to the 2024 rookie.

Considering the pattern so far, she will be in action for around 14 minutes, but it will be interesting to watch whether the recent injury has affected her progress so far. Still, having her in the lineup will provide defensive stability to the Sparks, as there is little margin for error with just 12 games remaining in the 2025 regular season.

In her first season, the 2nd overall pick played in 15 games and averaged 7.5 points per game. But her major impact comes at the defensive end as the rim-protector led the side with 2.3 blocks and 5.3 rebounds in that period.

Her emotional return was talk of the town, but the star stepped up quickly for the side and is putting up similar numbers for the three-time champions. She is currently averaging around six points, three rebounds, and two blocks. the second-year-forward even broke some records in process. She is one of the top defenders in the league, giving her side an edge at the offensive end.
