The LA Sparks have had a great two weeks. The side has won five games in a row, bringing its season stats to a challenging 11-14 record. Now, things are getting better for the LA side. Their star forward, Cameron Brink, is on the verge of a return.
The trio of Rickea Jackson, Azura Stevens, and Kelsey Plum is delivering on the court and now will have solid support from their 2024 rookie. A recent update from the franchise provides an encouraging sign.
Los Angeles Sparks Provides A Positive Update On Cameron Brink
The number 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft missed over 13 months due to an ACL injury. She worked hard on rehab and tried to make an early return. The Sparks’ coach, Lynne Roberts, hinted at her return before the All-Star weekend. But she kept the Stanford star out for the game against the Liberty.
The franchise has announced that she is cleared to play. The star worked on her on-court drills and participated in non-contact practice.

The star had opened up about her tiring and painful rehab process. “I’ve put in a lot of hard work. I feel like what people usually see is me living my life normally, but people don’t see the hours and hours that I put in the gym with my trainers, amazing training staff. I’ve been working my (behind) off, so I definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel for sure,” Brink told reporters.
In a Celebrity Wheel of Fortune episode, the star indicated that it would take “a couple of months” to get back to action. While the star was spot on with her prediction, the team will be happy to have their prized asset back in the lineup.

Cameron Brink’s Return Will Strengthen Surging LA Sparks
The addition of a 6-foot-4 forward is not only a rotation piece but a defensive stalwart that would instantly rise up the team’s stats on both ends. The 23-year-old star recorded 2.3 blocks per game at the pro level with 1.1 steals, 7.5 points, and 5.3 rebounds. These numbers are put up within just 22 minutes of gameplay.

The team struggled with rebounding this season, ranking third-worst in the WNBA. Brink’s presence inside will provide a much-needed boost in this area.
