The Indiana Fever defied the odds in the 2025 playoffs, reaching Game 5 of the semifinals despite a crippling injury toll. It was not that they were good for nothing, but Aliyah Boston emerged as the heartbeat of the team while shattering records once held by WNBA legend Candace Parker.
Boston also extended talks with NBC Sports-Peacock to return as an analyst. However, her season performance prompted Parker’s emotions. All of that in a good way.
Candace Parker Is Kind Of Annoyed With Aliyah Boston Breaking Her WNBA Records
During one of the latest episodes of ‘Post Moves Show,’ Parker playfully griped about Boston’s record-breaking spree, calling it “kind of annoying” before showering her with praise. Boston’s 24 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists in Game 4 against the Las Vegas Aces etched her name alongside Parker’s.

However, Candace was too in joy to call her love for the Fever star an annoyance. While she does not have any bad blood with Boston, the duo has been touching on all sorts of topics on their talk show.
“Well, it’s kind of annoying to be honest with you. I’ve only been retired for two seasons and she’s already X-ing me out of the record books. So I would love for you to chill out a little bit. Leave one stat for me in the record books. No, I’m just kidding. I’m so proud of you and your evolution,” Parker said.

We can feel you, Candace. When the Fever lost one after their other star players to unfortunate injuries, it was Boston who held the team tight and dished out opponents. Though they could not outlast the Las Vegas Aces, it was very little that they lost behind.
Aliyah Boston Sends Warning To Indiana Fever’s Rivals
While Boston’s dominance fueled Indiana’s season run this season, her post-playoff press conference on September 30 carried a defiant edge. When asked about the Fever’s 2026 outlook after a 108-97 Game 5 loss to the Aces, Boston sent a warning to the rival teams ahead of the next season.
“Be ready. Be ready. I think this year we showed a lot about what we’re capable of, and we didn’t even have our full squad at full strength, and so I just, yeah, that’s it. Be ready. Oh my gosh, that’s probably enough,” she said.
However, her warning hinges on a healthy Clark returning, with the Fever’s core in Mitchell, Cunningham, and Lexie Hull hitting the free agency.
