When discussing the WNBA, one name that cannot be overlooked is Candace Parker’s. Back in her playing days, Parker was one of the best of the lot. But now, as she has called it a day in her basketball career, the WNBA icon hasn’t shifted entirely from hooping.
The WNBA legend has been actively sharing her opinions about recent developments within the WNBA. For example, Parker recently slammed the WNBA’s copycat coaching cycle.
However, apart from this, the former WNBA star’s administrative qualities are also spot on. As a result, the Pro Athlete Community board recently bestowed upon her a prestigious honor.
Candace Parker Joins The Pro Athlete Community For A Special Reason
In a recent announcement, the PAC announced that Parker will be joining the Board of Advisors as co-chair. Now, this is a great honor for the WNBA icon as PAC provides its athletes with top-notch business ideas, education, mentorship, and more.

Now, as the co-chair, Parker will play a significant role. Not only will she be expected to carry forward PAC’s mission diligently, but she will also need to increase the access and involvement for women in sports.
Reacting to the newfound honor, Parker stated, “I’m incredibly excited to be joining PAC’s Board of Advisors. For many professional athletes, retirement marks the start of a brand-new chapter—one that can be full of opportunity, growth, and reinvention. While the transition can be challenging, it’s also an exciting chance to discover new passions and purpose. What PAC is doing is truly transformational for athletes, and I’m proud to be part of a movement that’s redefining what life after sports can look like.”

Surely, this is not the only honor Parker has received this year. She saw her jersey retired by two of her former franchises. Moreover, Parker was also inducted into the class of 2026 Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, despite receiving so much love and respect from basketball, the WNBA icon recently revealed another sport where she could excel.
Candace Parker Wants To Excel In Volleyball Next
Parker’s skill set in the hooping realm is pretty much unquestionable. However, in a recent interaction on an episode of the ‘Post Moves’ podcast, Aliyah Boston threw her an interesting question.

Boston asked the WNBA legend which other Olympic sport, besides basketball, she would excel at. Immediately, without giving it much thought, Parker picked volleyball.
“Volleyball,” said Parker. “I played volleyball in high school… [and my] daughter plays, so I still mess around with volleyball.”
