The Indiana Fever might have dropped a few games without Caitlin Clark, but they delivered when it mattered. With a 50%-win rate, they highlight their capabilities on the floor during the busiest schedules. But it’s not the Fever’s HC who is excited with this performance. Former champion Candace Parker also sees the bigger picture out of this stretch.
Talking to the Indiana forward Aliyah Boston, the Sparks legend made some bold predictions and also put the rest of the league on alert for the CC’s return. As per Parker, the Fever would be scary in the coming days.
Candace Parker Hypes Up Caitlin Clark’s Return
It’s been over a month and 11 games since the 2024 rookie last played for Stephanie White’s team. The side won six games in that period, with a season-best five-game winning run. Injuries once again hit them hard, losing Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald midway. Yet, as per Candace Parker, Indiana can be scary.
Talking on the ‘Post Moves’ Podcast, the former MVP mentioned that the team would be scary with the 23-year-old rookie’s return.
“I’m telling you, what Caitlin gets back, it’s gonna be scary from a backcourt standpoint. Because [Clark and Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell] with the ball in their hands, without the ball, and as a post player, your eyes have to light up. Because if there’s that much attention from the backcourt, if you set screens, if you set early drags in transition, the sky is the limit of what you all are able to accomplish,” Parker told the Fever forward Boston.

The 2023 Rookie of the Year Winner agreed to her point and smiled in return. Kelsey Mitchell has been in clinical form and now leads all scorers in the league with her scoring run in recent games. When Caitlin Clark makes her return, her playmaking and KM’s scoring would provide the side offensive advantage.

Meanwhile, the Fever still has a lot to work on and is currently looking to fill the void in the backcourt until CC is back.
Caitlin Clark Taking Time For ‘Perfect’ Return
Fans are also waiting to see the former Iowa star on the court. However, according to updates from head coach Stephanie White, the player is still working on her physical conditioning and has not participated in practice.

“She’s been able to get a little more in her full-court running with all of her body weight. It’s really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She’s been able to do a little bit more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not practice yet,” HC told media (via X/chloepeterson67).
Last time the star guard returned, she had a couple of days of practice. Though she performed well on the court, the franchise is looking to get her back 100% and avoid any future injuries. The playoff period is a month away, and the Fever’s cautious approach makes sense to compete for the title.
