NBC’s seasoned commentator, Reggie Miller, was one of the NBA’s respected figures. His illustrious career and game knowledge handed him authority on the mic. Though he hardly snapped on the live show, the pre-game show on February 2 for the mega game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks went viral for his comment on Caitlin Clark.
The CC’s NBC Debut already had huge hype, but some claims even suggested that the pregame segment for NBC garnered more viewership than the actual game. And with that, the veteran forward’s opinion went viral.

Carmelo Anthony Draws Parallel Between Caitlin Clark And NBA Superstars
Reggie Miller sparked controversy with his comments on the similarity between Fever superstar and Payton Pritchard. The Celtics star had been very effective for his side with some game-winners and buzzer-beaters. And the former Pacers’ star sees similar traits in the former Iowa star. Carmelo Anthony thrashed the comparison. He added Tyrese Haliburton and Luka Doncic in the mix.
“Caitlin Clark, I like. She got like little Steph, she got Haliburton. To me, she plays like Haliburton. She plays a little like Luka, like she knows angles. She manipulates you on offense like Luka,” he stated.
“But Tyrese, ’cause you don’t know where he’s going to shoot that s—t. He might just come across and act like he coming off a pitch and pull,” Anthony added.

Ironically, in Melo’s description, Clark is compared with the one NBA star whom she likes for his tactical game. While the CC also clapped back at the Pritchard comparison, she is ready for the upcoming season.
Caitlin Clark Getting Ready For Third Year In WNBA
After an exciting and hugely productive rookie season, the former Iowa star missed the majority of the 2025 season due to injury. Though Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston led the side to the semifinal of the season, fans were hoping to see the playmaker on the court, elevating their chance to win the title.
On the NBC show, she provided a positive update. “I was just looking back at some old videos from when I was at Iowa and I can just tell how much my body’s changed in a good way…I only appeared in 13 games last year so I’m itching to get back…and I got USA basketball coming up,” Clark said.
