After the Chicago Sky’s early exit from the 2025 WNBA season, it might be time to shift attention to different topics. The team’s poor performances, record, and Angel Reese saga overshadowed the 2025 season. But looking for a fresh start, the franchise shared an update on the new training facility.
Looking to showcase positive steps towards a new season, GM Jeff Pagliocca first addressed Reese’s trade rumors. Now with a new training facility, the team is set for a new era of the franchise.
Chicago Sky Celebrates Practice Facility Part Competition
After back-to-back poor seasons, the Chicago Sky will be hoping for better start to the 2026 season. The 2024 season showed glimpse of bright future and the franchise decided to invest in the new training facilities. The franchise announced in July of 2024 that they would be opening a brand-new, 40,000-square-foot practice facility.

The organization’s top brass came to practice to reveal the designs of the new facility to the players. And it is expected to cost over $40 million. At the end of 2025 season, the franchise celebrated completion of the exterior part of the facility, and beginning of the interior works.
The management released a statement confirming that the Chicago Sky will hold a ceremony to “celebrate the completion of the building’s exterior and signify that work on the interior of the facility will commence,” in relation to their future facility.
Not sure I’ve seen this before.

The management plans to complete the facility before the start of the 2026 season. This will provide the players with better preparation facilities. Interestingly, they could suit up differently for the upcoming season.
Chicago Sky Could Suit Up Differently In 2026 Season
Many criticized the Chicago Sky roster for its inconsistencies and losses throughout the season. Angel Reese has also demanded a massive overhaul in the side to compete for the titles in the upcoming seasons. As Reese already has goals set for her career, she wants the franchise Sky to align with them.
The franchise already has a few top picks in the upcoming WNBA drafts, and reports hint at a possible trade for Reese, which would provide the franchise with some more picks. As of the 2026 season, the team has four players on long-term contracts, including Angel Reese, Hailey Van Lith, Kamilla Cardoso, and Maddy Westbeld.
