The Chicago Sky had one of the worst seasons this year. With two back-to-back poor seasons, the Sky fans are looking extremely disheartened. Last year, despite Angel Reese’s heroics, the Sky ended up with their worst possible result. Soon after the conclusion of the season, the Sky front office brought in Tyler Marsh as the head coach of the team. But alas! Things did not improve much. Ending the season with a dismal 10-34 win-loss record, the Sky looked pretty out of sorts. Things went so far that fans called for Jeff Pagliocca’s firing after the season.
After their poor run, fans and critics started to speculate about whether Marsh’s first season as head coach would be the last. Thankfully, as recent reports suggest, things are not looking bad for Marsh.
Tyler Marsh Will Continue As Head Coach Of Chicago Sky
The fans seem to have been pretty much frustrated with the Sky front office. After a game against the New York Liberty late this season, the fans broke into ‘Fire Jeff’ chants, asking for a radical change in Sky management. Speculations about Marsh’s future, too, have been going wild. But as of now, things seem to be a bit stable with the Sky head coach.

According to a recent update from ‘Front Office Sports,’ it has been confirmed that the likes of Marsh will be getting one more chance to prove their worth as a coach in the coming season. To quote Annie Costabile of Front Office Sports, “The Chicago Sky and Dallas Wings are two franchises with records that often come with a change. According to multiple sources, neither franchise will pursue coaching staff changes ahead of 2026.”

Meanwhile, Marsh’s future is not the only problem the Sky is facing at the moment. Their primary star, Reese, ’s skipping of the exit interview has fueled further trade rumors. Meanwhile, with Reese taking a shot at her teammates, Etan Thomas seemed pretty unhappy with the situation.

Chicago Sky Star Angel Reese Faces Backlash From Etan Thomas
Reese had an interview with the Chicago Tribune recently. In a shocking turn of events, the Sky star decided to point fingers at her teammates. Frustrated by the poor season, Reese pointed out that, other than herself and Kamilla Cardoso, all other players might not be coming back for the next season. The 23-year-old star also stated that Courtney Vandersloot was too old to be their guard for the next season. Looking at such comments from the Chi-town Barbie, Etan Thomas lashed out at the Sky star.

“I would say as a rule, I would say that you never talk bad about your teammates to the media,” He said. “I would say that a better way to say the same exact message that she was conveying would have been, ‘We need to get better, we have to do better next year’. We cannot and use ‘we’ over and over again,” said Thomas.
Thus, it is evident that things are complicated for the Chicago Sky. Now, it remains to be seen how well the management can tackle the issues.
