The Chicago Sky’s Head Coach looks dissatisfied with the team’s defeat against the Minnesota Lynx. Like the Chicago Sky’s season so far, Sunday’s game at the Target Center in Minneapolis had flashes of promise tainted by a lot of problems.
The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Sky 80-75, with the home team’s strong second quarter serving as the deciding factor. Chicago outrebounded the Lynx 45-37 and shot 43.5% from 3-point range, but were unable to stop Minnesota’s transition blitz late in the game.
After players voiced concerns amid refereeing problems, Sky’s Head Coach also had something to say after Sky suffered a tough loss against the Minnesota Lynx. He spoke on the mistakes made by his team that cost them the match.
Chicago Sky’s Head Coach Tyler Marsh Believes The Problem’s Were With The Transition
Chicago had a double-digit lead before the conclusion of the first quarter but was unable to hold it. The game was closely contested throughout, with the Sky eventually losing 80-75. Angel Reese led the way for Chicago again, finishing with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists. Ariel Atkins had an excellent all-around effort, scoring 11 points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.

But this wasn’t the problem. Sky’s HC Marsh also felt that players did their absolute best due to a lack of ‘transition‘ in the game.
“When you look at the box score, we won a lot of areas in this game. Where we got hurt was in transition.” Tyler Marsh said post-game.

Marsh was hired by the Sky on November 3, 2024. He has since been in charge of constructing a young squad. Unfortunately, in 17 games, he has guided a squad that is on the verge of losing the season, with a 5-12 overall record and sixth in the Eastern Conference standings.
Chicago Sky’s HC Has Won Two Back To Back Titles With The Aces
Even though the Chicago Sky is going through a bad time, the Sky’s HC, Tyler Marsh, is one of the best in the business. Those who don’t know, during his time with Las Vegas Aces, he used to work as an assistant coach there. He used to work under Becky Hammon and they won two consecutive WNBA titles (2022, 2023).
Marsh brings impressive credentials as a first-time head coach to Chicago. After playing at UAB and Birmingham Southern, he started coaching in the NBA G League and then worked with major NBA teams, including the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers.
Let’s hope the Chicago Sky find their winning ways. If this continues, we can expect Sky to make major changes. With a star player like Angel Reese, Sky would hope to take advantage of an asset like her. The Chicago Sky will next face the Washington Mystics this coming Tuesday.
