The 2025 offseason is now in full swing, with players working on their plans to play in different leagues, recover from injuries, and even spend some quality time with family and loved ones. However, it’s also a time to upgrade the skill sets and gameplay for top players like Caitlin Clark. After the 2024 season, the Fever guard focused on improving her strength to cope with the physicality of the WNBA, but the Indiana franchise had other plans, too.
In one interview, famed trainer Chris Brickley revealed that he was supposed to work out with CC, but that didn’t materialize. Brickley praised her skill and influence on the sport, saying she is “the reason why the WNBA has become so big”. While his ‘influence’ point gets validation as Forbes crowned Caitlin Clark among the most powerful women in sports, it’s interesting to see when two top names in their profession join hands.
Chris Brickley Reveals Real Reason For Missing Work-Out With Caitlin Clark in 2024
The trainer worked with many big names from the NBA and even from women’s basketball, like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Trae Young, Paige Bueckers, and Azzi Fudd. Training with him would certainly perfect her game, making her a more lethal player on the floor.

In the latest interview, the famed trainer revealed that the Fever invited him to train their 2024 top pick. While Brickley was excited to work with her, he wanted the star to come to New York for a work-out, which she declined.
Explaining the reason, he said, “I was gonna have to go to Indianapolis. And I respect it. When you are young on your team, you work out at your prized facility. I am hoping now that this offseason, I am hoping that she would come to New York and we will get some work in.”

While the offer is on the table, it’s up to the Indiana Fever and the two-time All-Star to work around.
During her exit interview, the Fever superstar opened up on her offseason plans, and she might get a chance to have training sessions with Brickley. Up next, Clark will be on the golf course in November and have bigger plans for her basketball career.
Caitlin Clark Focuses On US Basketball In Upcoming Schedule
While it is not clear whether the star player and trainer would work together in the 2025 offseason, CC has her priorities clear. During the exit interview, she mentioned that she would be working on her fitness first and also hinted at the possibility of playing in the national basketball team.
“There’s some USA basketball stuff I need to get ready for. And I need to be able to find some runs and ways to play five-on-five, just so I can kind of get that feel back. But more than anything, I think my main focus is really just getting my body healthy,” Clark said.
The 2024 Rookie of the Year was not part of the gold medal-winning USA women’s basketball team, and the guard is looking to push for her inclusion in the national team. Till there are no updates on the possible schedule from the USA basketball, the Fever guard wants to be ready for the duty.
