Angel Reese has been in the limelight once again. And this time, it is not for her impressive on-court antics. While Reese’s Sky has already been eliminated from the playoffs, the star rookie took some serious disliking with the team’s functioning. Lashing out at her teammates, the Fever star had some harsh words to share. And she even talked about Sky veteran Courtney Vandersloot.
Currently, the 36-year-old has been nursing her ACL tear this season. And while she is not able to participate this time, Vandersloot promised that she is definitely coming back next season. Surely, such a statement was a strong reply to Chi-town Barbie.
Courtney Vandersloot Promises Return Despite Angel Reese’s Doubts
Reese had words of criticism for a number of her teammates. And that included Vandersloot, too. The 23-year-old pointed out that she, along with Kamilla Cardoso, will probably be the guaranteed returners for the upcoming year. However, in a recent interaction with Shimmy Miller, the 36-year-old veteran responded to Reese saying that she is ready to return to action. Vandersloot also believes that her age will not be a factor as she prepares for her return.

“Contrary to what people say or think, my age is absolutely not a factor. I am coming back. I’m gonna come back better than ever because that’s what I’ve done. I’ve put myself in the position to come back and compete at this age,” said Vandersloot.

Well, this was surely something that the Sky front office will not want. Rifts inside the team can be deadly, especially, when the team is trying to cope up with an all-time low. And although Reese has apologized to her teammates after admitting frustration, the situation still looks quite vulnerable. Meanwhile, following her surprising comments, Reese was recently heavily criticized by Jason Whitlock.

Jason Whitlock Utterly Frustrated With Angel Reese‘s Comments
Reese has riled up the WNBA community with her recent comments. Speaking about the current scenario of the Sky, AR5 stated that the management needs to add some quality players to the team. She further hinted at a possible trade request if her conditions were not met. Not only that, the 2024 rookie also pointed fingers at teammates like Rachel Banham and Hailey Van Lith. And listening to all such comments made Jason Whitlock pretty much frustrated. He immediately lashed out at the Sky star and even labelled her as ‘toxic.’

“This is what they say when you ghost the franchise with a “back” injury for 3 weeks. No one likes playing with Angel Reese. No one. Been true since college. She has a 2-year expiration date and people want her to evacuate. Toxic. I think she wants to play in Dallas w/ Paige and Azzi,” said Whitlock.
Surely, with things getting more complicated each day, Reese’s future in Chicago is becoming clouded. After such an outburst, fans are eager to see how well she can bond with her teammates from now on.
