The Unrivaled’s rise is astonishing. The league is riding high on the WNBA’s fame and talent, which then led to its quick success. Taking the league to Philadelphia, the record-setting attendance excited the players and owners. It’s the perfect location for the league to have its midseason 1v1 tournament with players like Kelsey Mitchell, Chelsea Grey, Courtney Williams, Paige Bueckers and others to test their skills in a basic yet tough format of the game.
The league already dropped its four pods, with the top 32 players playing against each other from the pod. As for the Lynx guard, she hoped to miss Mitchell in the competition, and sadly, that didn’t happen.

Courtney Williams Looking To Avoid Kelsey Mitchell
Unrivaled’s 3-on-3 format will take a back seat for a few days, as exciting 1-on-1s will be in focus till February 14. The pods are out with players with similar positions placed in the same pod. The two-time All-Star hoped not to see the Fever Guard in her pod.
In a video with her Stud bud, Natisha Hiedeman, Williams expressed her fear of facing Mitchell in the 1v1 tournament. “Her in a 1vs1? Please don’t be in my bracket, don’t put her in my bracket, bro. Like, I can’t guard her fast *** bro,” the Lynx star said.
Ironically, Hiedeman is Mitchell’s teammate in the Unrivaled league, playing for the Hive BC. In regular-season games, both Mitchell and Williams’ teams performed poorly, ranking near the bottom of the latest power rankings. But when compared to one another, the 29-year-old Fever guard has been on a roll.

Moreover, Williams’ words are a testament to Mitchell’s control in one-on-one matchups. Many of those who followed the WNBA must have seen KM dominate matchups in games, and her teammate, Aliyah Boston, shares that same attribute.
Aliyah Boston Rates Kelsey Mitchell As Best 1-on-1 Player
Speaking on the podcast, AB named Caitlin Clark and Mitchell as her favorite teammates and even rates the veteran guard as the best one-on-one player.
“Kelsey, it’s like, you literally can’t [stay in front of her]… And she’s waiting for you to just go for something, and she’s gone. Like, Kelsey is going to cook. That speed, that speed is going to take off,” said Boston.
Playing in her first Unrivaled season, Mitchell is certainly one of the favorites for the 1-on-1 tournament. Other challengers would be Paige Bueckers, Breanna Stewart, and Alyssa Thomas.
