With a solid outing in the 2025 season, KM and Boston made franchise history with Indiana Fever’s dual All-WNBA selections, which was a well-deserved honor for both superstars. But the South Carolina Gamecocks’ HC Dawn Staley sees an even brighter future for her former player in particular.
Dawn Staley Predicts MVP Accolade For Aliyah Boston
The 55-year-old HC always has a straightforward answer to any question and never shies away from giving credit when it’s due. Earlier during the 025 playoffs series, Staley called A’ja Wilson the greatest WNBA player, putting forward her accolades and accomplishments in the league.. Now, in a recent press conference, she made a bold prediction for another star forward.

When the reporter asked her about AB’s presence in the stands for their recent games, she praised the former players and said, “I’m sure they (South Carolina players) are going to pick her brain about how well she made the transition from college to the pros. She’s on the All-WNBA Second Team, and I think she’s on her way to being MVP because she works extremely hard on her craft.”
AB spent four seasons with the program and was part of the historic, undefeated season that led to the NCAA championship. She won NCAA Tournament MOP, AP Player of the Year, and Naismith College Player of the Year. The star was the winner of the Wade Trophy, four Lisa Leslie Awards, and two Naismith Defensive Player of the Year awards while at the Gamecocks.

Indiana Fever Could Use Aliyah Boston To Lure Free Agents

Interestingly, the 2025 free agency is even more lucrative, with an increasing number of top players available.

Following the strong 2025 season, importantly, without Caitlin Clark. Now with CC completely fit and AB showcasing her capabilities, the Fever tram is one of the hottest destinations for many championship-aspiring All-Stars and even former champions.
It’s fair to say the Fever has a slight edge over the other teams when it comes to bidding for the free agents. Now it will be interesting to see whether the front office keeps the 2025 squad together or makes changes to the roster.
