ESPN scrapped Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird’s six-year-long standing show on the NCAA tournament. The former Mercury star shared her views via interviews and podcasts, too. In the recent interview, she spoke about UConn and star player Azzi Fudd.
The undefeated side is a favourite for the championship, while the senior guard is also delivering huge numbers for them. One aspect Taurasi highlighted, though, was her efficiency and reliability.

Taurasi earned a reputation for being the ‘straight-forward’ individual on the floor. She speaks her heart out, which may not be pleasing for many, but it is the truth for sure. Her recent comment, though, will be music to Wings’ fanbase as she spoke about their possible first pick in the 2026 WNBA draft.
Speaking on a USA Today podcast, Taurasi noted that Azzi Fudd would be an excellent player in the WNBA. She said, “Azzi’s the best pure shooter I’ve ever seen. She is the only player, when she catches the ball and gets ready to shoot, I never think she is gonna miss.”
