The WNBA fan base is growing rapidly, with the league’s popularity spreading widely. Fans now experience regular interactions between the NBA and WNBA, which signifies that the league’s hype is reaching the NBA’s level.
But what Draymond Green experienced was something different, as a fan at the Smoothie King Center teased him with Angel Reese taunts.
Green confronted the fan over Angel Reese’s rebound jab during the Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans game. He provided reasons to the media later in the interview, but still made his views crystal clear on his podcast.
Draymond Green Provides Reason For His Anger On ‘Angel Reese Taunt’
It was perfect timing for ‘The Draymond Green Show’. The four-time champion had a rough week in the league. His scuffle with the French star Victor Wembanyama and later with a fan during the game against the Pelicans made the headlines.

The Warriors’ forward cleared the air on both topics. While exchanging words with the Spurs’ superstar was totally a mind game, he explained the heated exchange with the fan in detail.

“You get in these situations where fans, they like to get a bit disrespectful, and like I said, no disrespect to Angel Reese, but you’re not going to continue to just calling me a woman. That’s not going to work. Enjoy the game, watch the game, cheer your team on. To continue to yell to me that I’m a woman, that just ain’t going to work,” Green said.
Although the veteran forward didn’t take the Sky player’s name in the first place during the press interview, the fan himself admitted that he tried to distract Green with Reese’s name. The former defensive player of the year winner added that taking Reese’s name as a negative connotation will not work either, as he praised the two-time All-Star.
He said, “By the way, to use Angel Reese’s name as a negative connotation, I really don’t like that for the young queen because she’s done, what she’s done to become who she is.”
While the Warrior player made his stand clear about his heated exchange with the courtside fan, Reese didn’t comment on the topic at all. She was rather busy spreading love on the young ones.
Angel Reese Gifts Dearica Hamby’s Daughter Pair Of Kicks
Following a highly controversial end to the season, the Sky forward chose to keep her activities private and open up about them when the time was right. Reese even called it her offseason hack to cut down the noise. But Dearica Hamby spilled out one of the kindest works that the 2024 rookie did for her daughter.
The 24-year-old sent her Reebok shoes in pink to Amaya, which she wore to school. Hamby posted about it on ‘X’ as she wrote, “I want yall to know @Reese10Angel sent Amaya her Juicy set *in pink* and she wearing it to school can’t tell her NOTHING!!!”
