The WNBA 2025 season is experiencing an exciting period at the moment. After the All-Star break, all eyes are on the postseason now. The playoffs are nearly 45 days away. The teams are looking to better their records and squads before the trade deadline. Sixth-placed Indiana Fever are no different and will look to add some depth to the roster to provide Caitlin Clark and co. a chance to compete in the postseason.
But the trade deadline is approaching faster, with just over a week left to make the moves. In the midst of this, an ESPN analyst suggests an exciting trade for the Indiana franchise that will boost its credentials in the title run.
Paige Bueckers’ Teammate Could Join Caitlin Clark In A Possible Trade
The Dallas Wings have pieces that are not clicking at the moment. Their long-serving guard, Arike Ogunbowale, has been struggling since the thumb injury. At the same time, the young guns are showing some progress, but not enough to win games on a nightly basis. With this, the veteran guard is seen as a possible trade chip for the Wings to land some assets for the upcoming season.
But as per ESPN’s Kevin Pelton, there is another star who could be on the move, preferably to the Indiana Fever. In the trade, both teams will fulfil their needs. As per the analyst, Stephanie White’s team could land Myisha Hines-Allen for their forward Damiris Dantas and a 2026 second-round pick.

In the trade, the Wings will have a draft pick and a replacement forward in the lineup. The 29-year-old forward mainly came off the bench for them, and trading her will hardly affect their rotation.
The Wings’ forward averages 6.3 points per season, with 47% efficiency. She also has nearly five rebounds and three assists per game this season. On the other hand, Dantas averages 4.6 points, three rebounds, and 0.5 assists with 33.3% efficiency. The Louisville star is an upgrade for Stephanie white’s team, providing a perfect backup for Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston.

Following their mega offseason signings, the 2012 WNBA Champions are in a win-now season. The team has slightly improved over the 2024 season and even won the Commissioner’s Cup. But they are not yet at the championship-contender level, with CC’s injury concerns and inconsistency in the forward lineup.
Caitlin Clark Needs To Be 100% On Her Return
To challenge the title, the 2024 rookie still holds the key to the Indiana franchise. The record-breaking playmaker is out for 15 games (including All-Star and commissioner’s Cup final). Importantly, the team needs her to be injury-free in the later part of the 2025 season.

The team will look to push for a higher ranking to earn home-court advantage in the playoffs. While the guard needs to sync with her team quickly, Coach Stephanie White is prioritizing her well-being and long-term goal to ensure her availability in the postseason.
