Caitlin Clark has been the face of the WNBA ever since she stepped foot in the league. And there are some pretty good reasons for the same. Not only has she gained a lot of popularity outside of the court, but she has also. Clark has shown some immaculate skills that have drawn comparisons with the best of the best. Unfortunately, things have not been going great for the 23-year-old phenom at the moment.
Since the start of the season, Clark has suffered multiple injuries. And that has resulted in her missing as many as 11 games. And while the WNBA star must be itching to get back to action, good news has come in recently. With a much-needed victory against the Las Vegas Aces, Clark’s replacement was the one who stole the spotlight. And coach Stephanie White could not be happier.
Stephanie White Gushes Over Aari McDonald
With Clark out with a groin injury, Aari McDonald had a stupendous task on her hands. Coming in as a replacement, the shoes she was about to fill were huge. Thankfully, McDonald did not seem to crumble under pressure. And thus, passed her assignment in flying colors. With the Fever registering a convincing 80-70 victory, coach Stephanie White had some words of praise for McDonald. She particularly seemed impressed with McDonald’s clutch three-pointer right at the end.
“She’s putting in the work. She understands momentum. She understands timing. She understands the flow of the game. That was just a big shot, and she shot it with confidence. There was no hesitation, and that’s what I wanted to see,” White said. (via X)

Surely, the youngster did not show a hint of nerve. Playing alongside the likes of Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, and more, McDonald blended in perfectly. Putting on a show, McDonald finished with nine points, four assists, and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, nursing a frustrating injury, Caitlin Clark recently got some wise advice from a fellow teammate.

“Make sure you’re 100% before you start back up because games just kind of pile on. And if you don’t feel great, it’ll come back and hurt you in the end,” said Ionescu. (via X)
