The Dallas Wings were not at their top-tier performance as their WNBA season ended a little too early. But just like every good story, a comeback is what it takes to turn things around. And glimpse of that future seems to appear clearer than ever.
Last year, it was a win for Dallas as they drafted Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft. This year around, the franchise has all the votes to land top prospect Azzi Fudd in the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Azzi Fudd’s Fit Alongside Paige Bueckers At Dallas Wings
With Bueckers already positioned as the franchise centerpiece, Dallas now faces a defining need to build around her strengths immediately, or pivot toward a different long-term foundation. However, if Fudd declares for the draft, the schematic case for pairing her with Bueckers is compelling.
Fudd is one of the best off-ball shooters in recent draft classes. She moves without the ball, runs defenders through screens, and makes defenses pay for helping even a step too far. That matters for Dallas, which has relied heavily on Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale to create late in possessions.

Right now, defenses load up on Bueckers in pick-and-roll situations. Add Fudd on the weak side, and that becomes a gamble. And that is the least she could do given her current form.

Their success wasn’t complicated as it came from spacing the floor, making quick reads, and defending with discipline. This season, Fudd is putting together her strongest statistical case yet.
Through 28 games, she’s averaging 18.0 points while shooting just under 50% from the field, 47% from three, and 95% from the free-throw line. Her efficiency stands out, and her career three-point mark north of 42% reinforces her reputation as a dependable perimeter threat.
Just as important, she and Bueckers already understand how to play off one another. Their timing on cuts, off-ball movement, and defensive rotations has been tested in high-pressure games. For a Dallas team looking to accelerate its rebuild after back-to-back lottery finishes, that built-in chemistry is a win-win situation.
