The Indiana Fever fans have their eyes and ears open to all the happenings around the franchise. They follow every footstep of the franchise and provide blunt reactions to decisions taken by the front office. That’s the pros and cons of being in the spotlight. The Fever president, Kelly Krauskopf, might now have a clear idea about it.
As it happened, a clip showed Krauskopf mentioning Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston as foundational players and a chance to make the franchise ‘a brand’. But fans were not having it, and their reactions forced the Texas-born president to take an unthinkable step.
Indiana Fever President’s Major Caitlin Clark Brand Blunder
After the end of the 2024 season, Kelly Krauskopf returned to the franchise as president following a seven-year stint at the Pacers. During her introductory interview, she explained her vision for the team, where she used the former Iowa star’s name to build a brand.
“We want to sustain the growth and the interest level in the franchise. I mean, this is about the Indiana Fever,” Krauskopf said. “Yes, we have foundational players in Caitlin Clark … and Aliyah Boston, and we’re going to add to that. But I want this team to be a leader in the country, and an enduring brand … like Apple or something. We have a real opportunity here,” she said in press conference (Via X/@IndianaFever).
While these comments were made in October 2024, they went viral amid the team’s current struggles. Some fans were frustrated with how the front office looks at their star players – CC and AB, to use them to build the brand. Fans’ bashing led her to deactivate her X (formerly Twitter) account.
Soon after the tweet went viral for one more time, there were many fan accounts that started directly targeting. There was a huge amount of uproar among the Fever loyalists.

So, the words used to express views need to be used carefully. But that’s where the former WNBA director of Operations made a mistake and used two of the biggest names in the roster in the ‘wrong way’.
Kelly Krauskopf Architects 2025 Fever Roster Built Around Caitlin Clark
Even though the Indiana franchise didn’t win a title in 2024, the glimpse of their young core performances was encouraging. The front office, led by Krauskopf, made a major decision to keep only five players from the 2024 roster and add complementary pieces around them.

The franchise put their 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year winner as the focal point and added many championship-experienced players like Natasha Howard, Sydney Colson, and DeWanna Bonner. In addition, the franchise replaced Christie sides and hired Stephanie White as HC.
The additions were strategic, keeping young talent intact and adding experienced players and coaches to guide them on the floor. These were crucial moves for the side looking to win a championship in the 2025 season.
