There had been a lot to celebrate for the Indiana Fever in the 2025 season, despite injuries to key players. While the players received all the credit, the coaching staff also deserved huge praise for their efforts.
While the Fever side faces the toughest schedule for the 2026 season, the team is already stacked with a revamped coaching staff, preparing them for the challenges. Speaking about the coaching staff, the Fever team recently celebrated Women’s History Month, reintroducing assistant coach Karima Christmas-Kelly for a special series.

Indiana Fever Celebrates Women’s Month
Wife of Indiana Fever assistant coach Ausin Kelly, Karima made a name for herself as a defensive coach under Stephanoe White. The former Wings player joined the franchise in the 2024 offseason, and her impact was visible in the 2025 season performances.
Honoring her, the Fever franchise used her guidance in the special series for Women’s Month. In the video, Christmas-Kelly said, “Stay genuine and confident in yourself. You are enough…Just stay solid being who you are. Put in the work, put in the effort, and success will be there where you see it.”

Indiana Fever Could Target 6-Foot-6 Forward In WNBA Draft
The WNBA CBA talks raised questions over the status of the season, as many analysts questioned dates and completion of the WNBA expansion draft and free agency draft ahead of the WNBA draft. As per the schedule, there is just over one month left for the WNBA draft, and the number of mock drafts hints at different combinations for the franchises.
As for the Fever, though, the side has the 10th overall pick, allowing them to select the top player, considering the depth of the 2026 draft class. Analyst Josh Weil predicts South Carolina center Madina Okot, a 6’6″. Combining her with Aliyah Boston, who was also a Gamecocks prodigy, and Caitlin Clark, who works well with powerful forwards, will provide the side an edge in the game.
“With a revamped role and three-point shot, Okot has been extremely impressive this season, and there are very few women who measure up to Okot, let alone try to guard her,” Weil wrote.
She’s a player who can control the paint while also stepping out to knock down threes. Boston is also working on a similar skillset in the offseason, allowing the team to stretch the defence and score more effectively.
