Amidst the CBA turmoil, the WNBA announced the schedule for the 2026 season. As of now, there is no confirmation about when the season will begin. With the WNBA and the WNBPA at loggerheads over the revenue-sharing ratio, there has been significant smoke surrounding the upcoming basketball season.
Things have escalated to the point where Sophie Cunningham has even warned that a potential lockout could be on the horizon. Sadly, with already so much negativity, the Indiana Fever camp has received some more bad news involving one of their star players, Aliyah Boston.

Indiana Fever Tries To Keep A Positive Outlook To Aliyah Boston’s Injury
Following a stellar Unrivaled season for the Phantom BC, the Fever star was looking forward to leading her team in the semifinals, too. Unfortunately, a ‘right lower extremity injury’ forced her out of the postseason. And this would also create a big fuss for Indiana’s upcoming season.
Thankfully, even in the face of some serious concerns, the Fever front office tried to keep a positive mindset. While Unrivaled named Fever’s Makayla Timpson as her replacement, Fever wished her all the best via a public post.
Posting to Instagram, Fever uploaded Timpson’s picture with the caption, “let’s go, KK. @kay.timpson has been assigned to Team Phantom for @unrivaledbasketball Playoffs.”

Well, the absence of Boston will keep the Fever front office on its toes. Last year, the 24-year-old star played a major role in leading the Fever to the playoffs. Despite big names like Caitlin Clark and Cunningham missing, it was the Phantom BC star who delivered a phenomenal performance to take the team out of the dumps. Her impressive form even landed her in history books as the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year got All-WNBA selections alongside Kelsey Mitchell.
But at the moment, there is no clear update as to how serious her injury is.
What Is Aliyah Boston’s Injury Status?

The 3-time WNBA All-Star has just earned a major honor after voters crowned her the Unrivaled Defensive Player of the Year. Unfortunately, soon after the good news, the 3-on-3 took to X and wrote, “Aliyah Boston has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to right lower extremity injury.”
Aliyah Boston, who left Phantom BC’s last regular season game with injury, has been ruled out for the rest of the Unrivaled season due to a right lower extremity injury.

Unrivaled only has three days of play left, and did not specify the seriousness of the injury.
Thus, at the moment, there is no indication as to how many weeks she might be out of action. Chloe Peterson further stated that with just three days of play left, there is not much information available. Now, with the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying coming up from March 11, it will be interesting to see whether the 3x WNBA All-Star can make a comeback.
Thus, with a lot of questions left unanswered, the Fever fans will be waiting with bated breath to find out what happens next.
