The Dallas Wings will once again host the Indiana Fever for their third regular-season encounter. American Airlines Center will host the game, expecting around 20,000 fans to come in for the Paige Bueckers vs. Caitlin Clark faceoff. However, the Fever guard has missed the last five games due to a groin injury.
With the superstar playmaker’s significant progress, fans wonder whether she will return to the court and weave her magic for the visitors.
Chances Of Caitlin Clark Playing In Wings vs. Fever Game
The 2024 Rookie of the Year has been the face of the league ever since she stepped into the ‘W’. Games moved to larger arenas, which clearly indicated her popularity and impact on the fans. The Wings also have a generational talent in PB, who has a similar draw. Matchups between these two impactful players have always been a mega hit for women’s basketball.
Fans and analysts closely monitor these games. With the Indiana franchise starting its four-game road trip in Texas, there is a chance to see them on the court, competing against each other.
Unfortunately, CC will be out of action due to a groin injury, as there are no encouraging updates from the team yet. She missed their first possible matchup in June but played in Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena, where the hosts recorded a 102-83 win over the Dallas team. Both players performed well in the match, with the Fever guard scoring 14 points alongside 13 assists, and the 2025 rookie scoring 21 points.
The Wings vs. Fever game on August 1 will start at 7:30 PM (ET). The Indiana team has won both earlier matches and will look to have a similar outcome without their leading assist-maker.

Indiana Fever Delivering Without Caitlin Clark
It’s a rare sight not to see the former Iowa star on the court for a competitive game. She never missed a game in college, and even in her rookie season. But in her second year, she has already missed over 15 games. The side, which depended on her scoring and playmaking, was expected to struggle without her, but Stephanie White came up with the solution using the resources available to her.
The experienced and veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell has taken over the scoring responsibility. The team’s leading scorer is averaging 22.6 points per game. The forward pair of Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard is also working great with double-double performances on a nightly basis.

Mid-season acquisition Aari McDonald settled in well and recently dropped a career-high 27 points. Role players Lexie Hull, Sophie Cunningham, and Damaris Dantas have been handy at both ends of the floor. Behind these, the team recorded its first-ever three-game winning run in 2025.
The team can cope without CC against the struggling Wings. This will allow the 23-year-old more time to get 100% before coming onto the court.
