The stage is set for the Indiana Fever to capture their first title in the Caitlin Clark era. The star revived the franchise with her stellar performances last season. This ignited hope and championship aspirations with the fanbase and franchise.
Big off-season moves were made to support the record-breaking rookie to win the title in 2025 only. And even though the side is not dominating the league, like many expected, the Indiana Fever will play its first Commissioner’s Cup final on July 1. Their opponents are the reigning champions and in-form side, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
This will be their first meeting in the 2025 season, with the ‘revamped’ Fever team looking to establish itself as a strong contender with a statement win. But after missing the recent two games, fans are wondering whether Clark will be part of the Indiana Fever vs. Minnesota Lynx 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final.
Will Caitlin Clark Play In Commissioner’s Cup Final?
Clark was initially ‘out’ in Fever’s last two games when the guard was nursing her groin injury. Good news for the fans is that the status is now ‘questionable’, which gives slight hope for her participation.
Constantly on the court for her teams, Iowa and now the Indiana Fever, Clark missed games quickly, taking her tally to seven games without stepping on the court for a competitive game.

As per reports, Clark did practice on Sunday ahead of the Commissioner’s Cup fixture, but it was non-contact shooting that didn’t involve any teammates. Stephani White, who took a cautious approach during Clark’s injury in May, will once again keep a close eye on the development before giving the green signal to her participation in the game against the Lynx.

Caitlin Clark (groin) questionable for Tuesday.
— Underdog WNBA (@UnderdogWNBA) June 30, 2025
When Caitlin Clark made her return in June, she took control of the game against the then-unbeaten New York Liberty team. She scored 32 points with eight rebounds and nine assists. Her dominant performance eventually put the side in the Commissioner’s Cup Final. But since then, Clark struggled to score and sat out of games against the Wings and LA Sparks with a left groin injury.
Indiana Fever Already Shorthanded Against Minnesota Lynx?
While Clark is questionable for the Commissioner’s Cup final, the side will certainly miss their center Damaris Dantas. The 32-year-old veteran is currently on national duty and has already missed a couple of games. Aliyah Boston filled in well for the Brazilian star. But playing against the talented and defensively strong Lynx side will be a daunting task.
Also, the hosts of the game, the Minnesota Lynx, will miss Guard Karlie Samuelson due to a foot injury. Both stars might be substituting players for their sides; they contributed heavily, keeping up the pace of the team’s offense while giving their starters a breather. The exciting game will start at 9:00 PM ET, and the Target Center will host the mega fixture.
