Angel Reese is making some big headlines on and off the court. In a recent update, Reese was finally said to be making her Netflix acting debut. On the contrary, her public criticism of the Chicago Sky has put the limelight heavily on Chi-Town Barbie. With the Sky having a dismal season, the 23-year-old did not look too pleased. But soon after her recent comments, Jason Whitlock lashed out at the Sky star with some serious allegations.
Chicago Sky recently faced off against the Connecticut Sun. While Reese and co. did manage to edge out the Sun, the 2024 rookie still had a lot to say about her team’s performance. And Whitlock was not at all impressed with her comments.
Jason Whitlock Slams Angel Reese, Claims That She Wants To Join The Dallas Wings
Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky are now out of the WNBA playoffs. With injuries plaguing the team extensively this season, the Sky has been lingering at the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, speaking about their frontline star, Whitlock accused Reese of ‘faking’ a back injury to sit out action for almost three weeks. He also termed the 23-year-old as ‘toxic’ and presumed that the Chicago star might be looking to pair up with the likes of Paige Bueckers in the future.

“This is what they say when you ghost the franchise with a “back” injury for 3 weeks. No one likes playing with Angel Reese. No one. Been true since college. She has a 2-year expiration date and people want her to evacuate. Toxic. I think she wants to play in Dallas w/ Paige and Azzi,” said Whitlock.

Surely, the sports journalist was not the only one commenting on the matter. Chicago head coach Tyler Marsh too, addressed the situation recently. Marsh admitted that he is aware of the viral interview but has not watched the entire segment. However, the front office is dealing with the matter internally among themselves. Meanwhile, with the internet blowing up, here’s what Reese said in her viral interview with Chicago Tribune.

Angel Reese Sends A Stern Warning To Chicago Sky
Reese has come out as an improved athlete this season. While she is extensively criticized for her rebounds, the 23-year-old’s shooting has improved drastically. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about her team, the Chicago Sky. With a dismal record, the team is looking down the barrel at the moment. And in the middle of all these, an interview from Reese took everyone by shock. In a recent report published by the Chicago Tribune, Reese stated that without proper roster additions, she might as well leave the franchise.

“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want. I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously, I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can,” Reese said.
Surely, such a report immediately had the fans and critics’ attention. And now, with eminent personalities like Whitlock chiming in, the gravity of the situation has deepened tenfold.
