Angel Reese shocked the WNBA realm following her decision to join the Atlanta Dream. And with the kind of stardom she is bringing in, the 23-year-old is already benefiting the Dream ahead of the season. Currently, looking to regroup and aim for a strong performance this season, the Bayou Barbie will be one of the pivotal pieces for the team.
For the 2-time WNBA star, too, this might be a welcome change. Having significant issues with her former franchise, the Chicago Sky, the Chi-Town Barbie dropped a cryptic post right before her blockbuster trade. Now, as the roster is settling in, Jordin Canada cannot hide her excitement about teaming up with Reese.

Jordin Canada Confident About Success With Angel Reese
The Atlanta Dream will be eager to make this season count. And they are not keeping any stones unturned at the moment. Having acquired one of the hottest names in the WNBA, the Dream general manager described the trade as a ‘no-brainer.’ Now, explaining the team chemistry further, Canada had a lot to say.
“With Angel, just being who she is, her intensity, her grit that she brings, the energy that she brings, and her attitude, I think that’s something that we really needed that she’s bringing in,” Canada said. “And just her playmaking ability and her being able to rebound. Everybody loves the double-double queen… That’ll add to the arsenal as well,” Canada said following her training session in Atlanta.

Surely, Atlanta did have a decent season last year, finishing in the top half of the table. This year, the former LSU star will be joined by Alisha Gray. Her chemistry with Gray, combined with Reese’s ability to control the game and capitalize on second chances, should deliver strong results for the team.

Meanwhile, as the blockbuster trade still has fans reeling, the 2-time WNBA rebounding leader explained her move to the new team.
Angel Reese Wanted More Out Of Her WNBA Career

Coming in as a rookie, the Chicago Sky was her launching pad. While the team failed to make a mark in the last couple of years, Reese did impress with her impressive performances. Last year, as the team faltered yet again, the 2-time WNBA Peak Performer lashed out publicly towards her team. However, while the situation seemed sorted, the Bayou Barbie was not happy.
“I’m always going to be grateful for that because I did experience a lot of great things. I enjoyed being able to grow within my first two years, but I wanted more. I love to win, I love to compete,” said Reese, explaining her decision to move from Chicago.

She further added, “And I am not satisfied with what I am as a player, and I felt like being around these kinds of players would help me be better. I can help them in different ways to help them win, and that’s all I ever wanted. I don’t care about anything else that comes with it, I want to win and being able to come to an organization that really cared about their players.”
Thus, with things looking promising, the focus now shifts to what comes next.
