When the new WNBA season begins, there are a few names that will have the spotlight. And Angel Reese is certainly one of them. Having an injury-plagued season last year, the Bayou Barbie will be eager to kick off things on the right note. However, pulling off yet another unpredictable move, the 23-year-old is now at the center of WNBA affairs. Reese shook the WNBA realm by joining the Atlanta Dream in a blockbuster trade.
This development really came out of the blue. There were no rumors, speculations, or hints about the star player planning for a change. Although there was news about a possible rift between Reese and the Chicago Sky last year, the Chi-town Barbie did drop a cryptic tweet before her trade announcement. Now, as things are shaping up for a new chapter to start, the Atlanta Dream is already reaping some rich benefits.

Angel Reese Has Caused A Rush In Atalanta Dream Ticket Sales
Everybody wants to have Reese on the team. But this year, it will be the Atlanta Dream who will have that honor. While it has been barely 72 hours since the trade took place, Reese-fever is already taking over the Dream City.
According to a recent report, the inclusion of the former Chicago Sky star has made Atlanta’s ticket sales go up by leaps and bounds. This Thursday, StubHub reported a whopping 15% increase in sales. And if that was not enough, this was also the single-day spike that the website has witnessed in Atlanta Dream’s overall sales history.

The Dream quickly saw Reese's jersey sell out just hours after the announcement, along with a bump in ticket sales and social media followers, all within 24 hours of the blockbuster trade.
Now, that is some impact we are seeing from the 2-time WNBA All-Star. Such news will be a welcome surprise for the league. This year, Dream has scheduled most of its games at the Gateway Center in College Park. Now, this particular arena has a capacity of 5,000. Owing to surging sales, Atlanta is trying to move at least 5 of its games to the State Farm Arena, which has a capacity of 16000.
