The Indiana Fever fell flat against the Las Vegas Aces in Game 3, scoring just 72 points at home. This is their second-lowest score in the playoffs this season, calling for urgent attention to the offensive play. One of the reasons for the low scoring night is the form of Kelsey Mitchell, who, despite leading the team in points, struggled with efficiency.
Mitchell made WNBA scoring history in the Indiana Fever’s Game 1 win over the Las Vegas Aces. She scored 34 points on the night. But since then, her shooting efficiency has dropped, impacting the Fever’s offense. Many assumed that the guard was struggling with an injury.
Kelsey Mitchell Addresses Injury Concerns
The Indiana Fever needed a strong response in Game 3 against the Aces after a humiliating loss in the previous matchup. The team once again relied on its top scorer for the season to carry the offensive load, giving her 26 attempts (most in the game) out of 72. But the three-time All-Star went just 8-of-26 from the field and 3-of-11 from deep.

At one point, she was shaking her hands in the game. Many connected this to possible struggles on the field, and during the post-game interview, a reporter asked the Fever star about it.
“No, just missing (shots). It’s nothing. I mean, I think at that time I think somebody hit my hand, but no. Just a bad day.” Mitchell replied.

But apart from KM, other Fever stars also found it difficult to net the ball. Veteran guard Odyssey Sims went 0-of-7 in the game, while Aliyah Boston also had a rough night with 5-of-16 shooting for her 12 points. The Fever must work on their scoring to stay in the playoff series. As for ‘healthy’ Mitchell, she already has plans for the Winter Games.
