This was expected, as the player worked ‘superhard’ in the 2025 season and even had an injury because of the same. Yet, she made a few public appearances for the Indiana community and spent her time refining her game and cooling off.
Amid the offseason, Kelsey Mitchell announced the inaugural Mark Mitchell Classic to honor her late father, a noble initiative in memory of her basketball coach father. Meanwhile, the player was often active on social media, reacting to her teammates’ posts or even sharing her own updates. She recently shared a cryptic post, which garnered a lot of attention.

Kelsey Mitchell led the Indiana Fever’s run in the 2025 season. Following her performances, she is now a high-profile free agent who is on many franchises’ radar. HC Stephanie White keeps Mitchell as the top priority ahead of free agency, but being an unrestricted free agent, she has to take a call.
Amid all this, the star guard shared a post about ‘choices’, as she wrote, “Life is about choices. Here’s to hoping I keep making the right ones with the right people for the right reasons. 30 ball.”
The message is confusing enough and concerning enough for the Fever fanbase; following her future with the Indiana franchise is still hanging in the balance. However, her Fever teammates are not concerned about this and have reacted to the post.
