Sue Bird’s Podcast received a great response from the fans, and the main reason for that was her guests and questions. In a recent episode, the Seattle legend had Kelsey Plum as her guest. While there were many questions for the dynamic guard, the two most essential questions were why she left the Las Vegas Aces, and the other was about her comments on Caitlin Clark during the All-Star game.
The 30-year-old guard gave answers to all questions, including her comments on Team Clark during the All-Star game.
Kelsey Plum Talks About Her Comments On Team Caitlin Clark
Fans still remember the ‘Pay Us What You Owe Us’ t-shirts during the All-Star game, and along with that, four-time All-Star Plum’s remarks on Team Clark. She said that Clark’s side didn’t show up for that morning meeting to discuss collective bargaining agreement talks. It shocked everyone in the press conference, showing division in the WNBPA.
Answering Sue Bird’s question about why she said it, Kelsey Plum acknowledged that ‘it was a bad joke’ as she was trying to start to lighten the tense situation in the room.
“I was making a joke, they were hungover even though our team nickname was ‘Hungover’. “I was like, ‘At least we made it.’ Obviously, we were all on the same page. We all wore the shirts. We’re all unified. I think if anything, I was more discouraged because I felt like (the comments) took away from the moment of what we were trying to do,” Plum said on the Podcast (Via X/clkszn).

Before the All-Star game, there was a party in Indiana for the WNBA players, where Clark and her teammates had fun. Live streaming from Studbudz also showed Clark with Kate Martin and Aliyah Boston. Boston tried to take the drink out of the Iowa star’s hands, which also went viral.

Sabrina Ionescu Shut Down Kelsey Plum
The moment happened during the press conference, where Team Clark member Sabrina Ionescu was with the LA Sparks guard. At the time, while Plum was trying for a joke, Ionescu looked serious and quickly shut down the remarks.

The 2024 champion mentioned that it’s an unnecessary comment. While the veteran guard understood Ionescu’s angry reaction from her tone and look, she tried to cover up, saying that she was trying to lighten the mood.’ Some fans even thrashed the former Aces star for her comment.
