Breanna Stewart delivered yet another flawless performance in the Unrivaled league as season 2 finished with Mist BC’s championship win and a massive $18 million revenue jump. While the winners performed well in the game, the runners-up were also equally challenging, as Kesley Plum pointed out one difference that led to Phantom BC’s loss.
Importantly, Phantom BC were on a nine-game winning run, which included two wins over Mist BC, before losing in the final. The key difference between those two wins and losses in the final was Aliyah Boston’s availability.

Kelsey Plum Connects Loss To Aliyah Boston’s Absence
The Phantom BC won over Vinyl BC in the semifinal to book its place in the final without the fever forward. As for the Mist BC, the side had three-time WNBA Champion, Breanna Stewart, at the heart of the offence and defence. While Makayla Timpson replaced Boston in the game, the experience and quality difference was massive to fill in.
“We’re down AB,” Plum said. “It’s an All-Unrivaled player, an All-WNBA player. Defensive Player of the Year. There were some breakdowns. AB fills the gap. Offensively & defensively, it was tough. AB’s been our anchor defensively all year. That’s kind of like where we palm our hat on. She does an incredible job of being able to guard guards, guard bigs, and rebound the ball. We missed her a lot tonight.”
