The Los Angeles Sparks defeated the high-flying Indiana Fever. Even though Caitlin Clark was out, Stephanie White’s team had been delivering mesmerizing performances in recent games. But against the LA Sparks, it fell short. A big reason for this loss was Kelsey Plum.
The 30-year-old guard was once again instrumental in the game. With her playmaking and hustle plays, she helped her team record an 89-87 win over the Fever team at Bainbridge Arena. But more importantly, she set a unique record against the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup winners.
Kelsey Plum Makes History With Win Over Indiana Fever
The two-time WNBA Champion scored 20 points with three rebounds and three assists in the game on July 5. In the close game, where every possession counts, Plum was there to shut down her opponents in defense. She was active on the offense, also. And now, after the win, the three-time All-Star has a 21-1 record against the Indiana Fever. That’s the highest win percentage by any WNBA player against a single opponent.

The former Las Vegas Aces guard enjoyed dominant performances against the Fever, winning 19 games out of a possible 20. This run includes the 16-game winning streak of the Aces, which was recently broken by Stephanie White’s team. Plum spent seven seasons with the franchise, losing only once to Caitlin Clark’s side. With the Sparks, she now has a 2-0 record, including an 85-75 win in June. Incidentally, CC was absent from that game, too.

Anyhow, Plum, playing in her eighth season in the league, seems to love playing against the Indiana Fever. Both sides will face each other on August 5 next, and Caitlin Clark will look to put an end to this streak also.

The Indiana Fever are back to a 9-9 record and remain in seventh place in the league. The LA Sparks improved their record to 6-13 and are just outside of playoff contention.
Kelsey Plum Looking To Carry LA Sparks To Their Past Glory
A move away from the Las Vegas Aces was a big surprise, but Kelsey Plum is now looking to bring her winning mentality to the LA Sparks side. The former Washington Huskies star is leading the team in scoring (20.1 points per game) and in assists (5.7 assists per game). Despite having a few players out injured, the veteran guard is keeping up with her opponents and pushing her young side to victory.
While the LA Sparks have won five conferences and three WNBA Titles, the side has not qualified for the playoffs since 2021. With an 8-32 record last season, Lynne Roberts’ team will be looking at the experienced guard to put them in a competitive position.
