The Unrivaled season 2 has already produced many memorable moments, right from Kelsey Plum’s record-setting night to Dominique Malonga’s monstrous slam dunk. With these encouraging signs, some players didn’t let the physicality part of the game vanish from the court. Recently, Brittney Griner displayed the same physicality on Aliyah Boston.
Earlier in the season, Marina Mabrey and Courtney Williams received technical fouls for their on-court fight, and in AB’s case, referees called a flagrant foul on Griner. Commentator Lisa Leslie was also not happy with the Dream forward’s ‘dirty’ play.

Lisa Leslie Criticizes Brittney Griner’s Foul On Aliyah Boston
The match-up between two forwards was already intriguing after the Fever star found a bit of success playing against A’ja Wilson in the WNBA. Griner was frustrated with AB’s defence and tried to draw fouls. On one play, both players were battling for a rebound, and Griner’s right arm wound up hitting Boston across the face—leading to a flagrant foul call.
“Listen, I think that was extra and I think it’s excessive and if that was my face I probably would have punched her,” Leslie said.
That looked like it hurt 😳

Boston was down on the floor holding her face and was already annoyed by Griner’s play. “But don’t ask me, y’all brought me here. I’ll tell you the truth. It’s a foul because that follow through is not your normal follow through. It’s one thing to try to block my shot at the top, but it’s a whole other to scrape across my face,” Leslie added.

Aliyah Boston Happy with Her ‘Improved’ Game
The Phantom BC is on a roll, winning games and having fun at the same time. With Kelsey Plum, Natasha Cloud, Kiki Iriafen, and Boston in the same team, the side already has a potent team to challenge for the title. On the fun side, Plum took a sneaky jab at Boston’s screening ability. On the floor, though, the Fever forward is happy with her improvements.
“I think overall my game has improved. I think Unrivaled helped me just with my pace guard, just being able to guard people with just more space on the floor than it is in the W. So that’s definitely important for me, and just continuing to try different stuff to expand my game,” AB said in the post-game interview.
The Indiana Fever side will be happy to see her thrive in the league and form bonds with some of the top players in the league to attract them in the free agency.
