The Indiana Fever will enter the 2026 WNBA season with three rookies on the books. The front office sees all three, Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Makayla Timpson, as key members to their future and will be going ahead trying to build around the three stars.
Ironically, the 2024 rookie played in only 13 games in the 2025 season and was on the sidelines due to injury. Yet coach Stephanie White revealed Clark’s key role as the team faced an injury setback amid a playoff push. Now, Timpson also lauded the importance of ‘injured Clark’ in the locker room.

Makayla Timpson Praises Caitlin Clark
Timpson was the 19th pick and the only survivor from the 2025 draft on the Fever team. Amber Cox and White called her ‘steal’ of the draft with the star showcasing her abilities around the rim. The star recently gave an interview to Mario Caccianiga, highlighting the impact of CC on her game.
“She’s a great player, and just seeing her grow and us growing together as teammates, making each other better, pushing each other, it’s going to be great. I love her, how she fights, the things that she’s able to control, and that she doesn’t show. She’s just a strong, strong player, strong-minded. Hopefully, we can just continue to play with each other,” Timpson said.

Though the player didn’t have heavy stat numbers, she was an important rotation piece in White’s structure and a key young star for the future. As for Clark, fans witness her constant presence on the sidelines and he way she was cheering and gunning for her teammates, ready to fight with the referees too.

While the 2025 season is under wraps and the hopes for the 2026 season brighten up after the league declared the schedule and Breanna Stewart hinted at positive signs, the Fever team will be gearing up with another solid team on the floor. The former Iowa star is already on it.
Caitlin Clark Working Hard To Return To 100% Recovery
The Fever star trained with the USA Senior team and showed a glimpse of her old self. She accepted that she is not 100% fit but is feeling better at the moment. While the camp was in mid-December, the player made a lot of progress with her recovery.

In the recent interview, the playmaker said, “I put together a pretty incredible stretch of never missing a game. The fact is, when you’re a professional athlete, it’s going to come at some point. That’s just how it goes. I think it’s honestly taught me more than I’ve probably ever learned through the course of my career of how to take care of your body, how to get right, how to stay healthy and then just taking time for yourself.”
While she is working on her own fitness, Clark also tried recruiting for the Fever side and wants Sophie Cunningham back in the lineup. The Fever side has a lot of options with the quality in the free agency, and also on the WNBA draft class, they will first look to protect important players ahead of the expansion draft.
