Defeating Georgetown, the UConn Huskies won the Big East Conference championship. Though the side has many such trophies in its cabinet, the one is special for its unbeaten season and dominant wins. While Coach Auriemma was happily smiling on the sidelines, analysts Monique Billings and Candace Parker highlighted their massive success with respect to top pick prospect Azzi Fudd.
Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong make the 2026 Naismith Player of the Year late-season watchlist and shone in their final home game of the regular season, too. Parker singled out the 2026 draft prospect for her strong performances in the season.

Monique Billings and Candace Parker Laud UConn’s Near-Perfect Season
One win and the UConn Huskies put the 2025-26 regular season in the books as undefeated, with 67 wins in a row. UConn Huskies build substantial lead in Big East with dominant early conference wins, but they never seemed challenged throughout the season.
Talking about Fudd, CP said, “When great players go to historic programs, there is this expectation that you take on. Obviously, to win championships… Azzi Fudd learned a lot last year about what it takes to win a championship. And obviously, what it takes to stop and smell the roses. This is what she came back to do. I don’t think the job is finished but you can take a moment and learn the importance of taking care of business.”

Billings also joined the conversation, pointing out a happy coach and saying, “You know they’re doing something right when you see Geno Auriemma smiling at the end of the game.”
