The underdog label, the resilient gameplay on the floor, winning the games after clutch plays, and celebrations with fans after the win, Natasha Howard loved every bit of the 2025 season with the Indiana Fever, as the player shared an emotional post three days after the semifinal exit. Reason for late posting – she was heartbroken, as she mentioned in her post.
After the Fever team lost in overtime against the Aces, many Fever stars gave exit interviews and shared their lovely memories on social media. Sophie Cunningham issued a bold warning to WNBA teams, the Fever’s league opponents, in her post. Howard, though, shared an emotional post pouring out her feelings for the team and fans.
Natasha Howard Shares Heartfelt Message For Her Teammates
During the 2025 season, the Indiana Fever had many players making the ‘impossible’ possible, but Howard remained the only player who stayed calm, composed, and consistent for them. During wins or losses, the veteran forward kept her eyes set on the championship and delivered one Commissioner’s Cup, winning the MVP accolade for her performance. But after the end of the season, she couldn’t hold on to her emotions and wrote a heartfelt post for the fans and teammates.

“I still haven’t had much time to process everything coming this far, and not being able to finish it out with the teammates I’ve grown to love and enjoy is tough. Sometimes, as a professional, you say you enjoyed every teammate, even when you didn’t. But this group is honestly different. They made me feel wanted, valued, and loved. I wasn’t just another number to them. They pulled the vet out of me. Normally, I just play ball, but this team showed me how much I truly belonged. Fifteen new sisters 🥹 we made history together, and that’s something nobody can ever take away from us,” Howard wrote in her post.
She even added that at times she felt unjustly treated by the league with all the hate, officiating issues, and doubts on the team’s ability, but she was proud of the achievements instead. The two-time All-Star thanked fans for the support and love, and more importantly, showed love to her teammates. She added that she would go to war any day for her Fever teammates and trusts them very much.

Natasha Howard To Play In China After WNBA Season
After the Fever’s exit, players like Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston, and Kesley Mitchell will play in the Unrivaled league starting from January 2026. The veteran forward, though, will head to China for action as per reports. It is important to note that the 11-year veteran will be an unrestricted free agent in the 2026 season and has yet to decide on her future.
“Free agency, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m not trying to think about that right now. Just trying to dissect everything for this season. I’m really proud of what we have done and also myself being in the league for so long and carrying this special group to the semifinals,” Howard said in her exit interview.
Stephanie White lauded Howard’s influence on the rookies and also on the floor with her experience helping them clinch the Commissioner’s Cup title. White also praises Kelsey Mitchell and Natasha Howard for leading the Indiana Fever’s playoff push. The Indiana Fever will probably look to re-sign the star, keeping a ‘loved’ veteran in the lineup for the upcoming season.
