UConn Huskies’ Two Stars Earn USBWA First Team All-America Honors
The Huskies had been a dominant force in the 2025-26 season and landed a top seeding over UCLA as the March Madness schedule rolled out. Two key pillars for their command over the court were Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong. For their performances, the guard forward pair earned a place in the First Team All-Americans by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

The senior guard is putting up huge numbers with her career-best 17.7 points average and nearly joins the exclusive 40/50/90 group with her efficiency. She already has a single-season career high in rebounds (87), assists (101), and steals (85).
As for Strong, the sophomore won the unanimous BIG EAST Player of the Year and the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year, as well as unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team and the All-Defensive Team.
