Paige Bueckers will be one of the hottest names when the WNBA comes back next year. After having a stellar season last year, the fans are excited to watch her break new ground. However, in a recent statement, Bueckers has urged the Wings fans to ‘let her run her own race.’
Apart from looking to score big next season, Bueckers will have another interesting prospect going on. For next year, her girlfriend, Azzi Fudd, too, will be making her entry into the WNBA.
And while Fudd recently shared the moment she developed feelings for Bueckers, fans are eager to watch their rivalry unfold. Surprisingly, Bueckers came up with a very interesting answer.

Paige Bueckers Is Ready To Up The Ante Against Azzi Fudd
Fudd is currently busy guiding the UConn Huskies in the NCAA. Trying to land them in a probable title run, Fudd’s chances of being a top draw in the WNBA draft are high.
Now, as per the consensus, most people want the Wings to rope in Fudd to make a perfect pairing with Bueckers. However, there is a pretty good possibility that Fudd and Bueckers will be donning separate colors. And as per the 2025 Rookie of the Year, she is ready.
“Yeah, well, first of all, she’s really not that good at talking trash, so I don’t think she’d have to worry about that. She would say she would mess with me, but I think I’m obviously more…I would mess with her, and then she’d get annoyed and irritated. Yeah, we haven’t played against each other since high school, so I really don’t know how that will go,” said Bueckers.

Surely, the competitive rivalry between the two sounds like an exciting affair. However, despite Bueckers getting all the limelight now, Fudd might as well catch up real quick.
Azzi Fudd’s Recent Form Makes Her The Top Choice For WNBA Teams
Under the coaching of Geno Auriemma, Fudd decided to delay her WNBA debut by a year. And the decision proved to be clutch as she is now one of the biggest names in the NCAA.

One of the biggest possibilities is that the Wings might be drafting Fudd. As they attempt to build their team around Bueckers, the front office may allow the two to play together to improve overall team chemistry.
The duo even led the Huskies to a national championship playing together recently. And looking at Fudd’s recent form, most of the franchises are expected to target the Huskies’ 23-year-old. Fudd has been averaging 17.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Thus, with the situation looking exciting, it now remains to be seen what happens next.
