This has been quite a season for Paige Bueckers. The Dallas Wings rookie has been turning heads with her performances lately. But her recent back issues have fans holding their breath. And to add to that, the team had a key status update for the star rookie ahead of the Indiana Fever clash.
The anticipation comes amid Dallas fighting to climb out of the Western Conference basement at 8-24. During this murky stretch, Bueckers’ health is crucial, especially after she sat out a recent game against the Liberty.
Paige Bueckers’ Status Gets Crucial Update Ahead Of Fever Clash
The No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft has been a bright spot for the Wings. And has been averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game despite the team’s struggles. While Bueckers keeps putting out handsome numbers on the court, her injury status got multiple updates. Not once but twice. Both ahead of the Caitlin Clark-less Fever clash.

Priorly, the star point guard was ‘probable’ for tonight’s game. However, another update came as a joyful kick for the Wings fans as she became ‘available’ for the Indiana game. Though it was not a big deal to transition from probable to sure short availability, she has many fans pulling up to the arena just to watch her hoop.
The Minnesota-born rookie’s injury woes started after a hard-fought loss to the Liberty. During that game, she dropped 21 points, eight rebounds, and four assists before the back pain flared up. She missed the next outing.
However, facing the Fever won’t be easy. Indiana, at 18-14, is dealing with their own absences in Caitlin Clark, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald as all of them are out. Clark, in her second season, has only played 13 games, averaging 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists before injuries sidelined her. Without her, the Fever lean on Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, making this a must-watch clash of young talent.

Paige Bueckers Needs To Stay Healthy Despite Injury Scare
Bueckers’ journey from UConn stardom to WNBA standout has been electric, but staying healthy is key for a Wings team desperate for wins. Additionally, she has already proved that she can score, dish, and steal, which has made her a triple-threat, all with great ease.

Despite a healthy showing, she had earlier addressed a long-lost injury scare that could mess with the team composition if it strikes back. While the fans are hyped for the star rookie, the team management should be wary of the consequences if things go terribly wrong.
