Even though Paige Buckers moved to Texas and speaks highly about the Texan teams, her heart still resides in the People’s Bank Arena in Connecticut. She follows the Huskies every game, and even attended UConn’s season opener at the Naval Academy in Annapolis.
Bueckers described a “surreal feeling” after attending the first game. Now, she seems to have similar feelings, looking at her reaction to Sarah Strong’s performance against the Buckeyes.
Paige Bueckers Lauds Former Teammate Sarah Strong
The UConn Huskies defeated Ohio State by 32 points, and the difference maker (literally) in the game was Sarah Strong, who scored 29 points and collected 13 rebounds in the game. The opposition had no answer to her controlled performance as they dropped their first game of the season.

The former Huskies superstar, Buckers, was in awe of her sophomore forwards’ gameplay and shared a post, lauding their gameplay. She simply wrote, “Sarah Strong… No Words.”

Even in her freshman year, the forward was key to their championship-winning game with 15 rebounds and 24 points against the top-seeded South Carolina team. Now, a similar performance against the Ohio state side underlines her efforts to be the centerpiece for the side’s success. Azzi Fudd was another top performer in the game with 19 points and six assists.
