The UConn Huskies are looking to close the impressive season with a national championship. Ironically, Coach Geno Auriemma used Paige Bueckers’ name to encourage his side to perform better at the NCAA March Madness. This highlights the former UConn star’s influence on the team, and whether she will be playing or not, the Wings’ star will always be one of the iconic players in the program’s history.
While her impact on the basketball world is understandable, recent news from the entertainment world showed her ‘great taste’ in movies, too.

Paige Bueckers Recommended Movie Wins Oscar
Following a fruitful 2025 season, PB took a well-deserved time off the court. During the break period, the former UConn star was at the Movies, enjoying the star-studded cinema ‘One Battle After Another’. While the player is showing a flawless game on the court, her movie choices and understanding also seem to be on point. Knowing her for so long, UConn’s current megastar Azzi Fudd is also looking to follow her blueprint to win the championship.
Azzi Fudd Looking Up To Paige Bueckers For Inspiration
The spotlight is already on Azzi Fudd following PB’s departure. Fudd even reveals how ditching Instagram helps her tune out media noise and draft talk for peak focus. But now in March Madness, she is once again looking for some inspiration from her former teammate, which she mentioned in the recent interview.

“Oh, I mean, she’s someone that I look up to in so many different aspects. But the way that she just went about all of last year, especially the end, how she handled the expectations, the pressure, her mindset, how she was able to perform and be a great leader and great teammate through it all, and at the end of the day still be herself. She didn’t change at all. That’s so impressive. So I definitely got to learn a lot from her, and I’ll be trying to be like her this month.” Fudd said.
The Wings star already sent best wishes for her UConn teammates and is confident about their win in the upcoming tournament too.
