Come All-Star week, Bueckers hard-launched her relationship with Fudd as the WNBA realm went gaga. While there have been many stories circulating about the two, a recent one-on-one interview brought out the competitive nature within the couple.
Paige Bueckers Backs Herself Over Azzi Fudd In A 1v1 Matchup
Ahead of their game against the Las Vegas Aces, Bueckers caught up with Willie Ramirez. A sports writer and a radio host, Ramirez is well known for coming up with interesting conversations on his ‘You Don’t Say’ show. This time around, it was the Dallas rookie who had to answer who would win between her and Fudd in a one-on-one showdown.
Hearing the question, the former UConn Huskies star hesitated for a moment. However, she instantly made up her mind and said that Fudd would, at the most, garner between seven and eleven points. Thus, according to the 23-year-old, there was no doubt that she would do a clean sweep against her beloved partner.
“Best-of-7 [race] to 11 [points], I’m winning. A sweep, 4-0. The most she would get is 7, so it’s 11-7,” said Bueckers.

Well, Bueckers might be feeling confused about a victory, but Fudd must not be counted out easily. After all, she recently revealed how she idolized Natasha Cloud while growing up. When asked about the exact moment that Fudd made up her mind to move forward with the relationship, the 22-year-old elaborated the instant quite vividly.
“Almost kind of immediately. I remember the plane ride home to Minnesota and talking to you and really liking you,” said Fudd.
The incident took place when the Huskies teammates played for the US U16 basketball team back in 2017. Surely, it turned out to be the right decision for both. And now, with things picking up pace, Bueckers and Fudd are considered one of the most adorable couples in the WNBA.
