Angel Reese’s Chicago Sky has already crashed out of the playoffs, but the 23-year-old has been quite impressive this season. Despite struggling with her back injury this season, the Sky star has made quite the noise. Owing to her sublime performance on the hardwood, the Sky star recently surpassed Tina Charles for WNBA rookie double-double history. Surprisingly, a Storm commentator savaged Reese in a recent game against Seattle.
Sky recently faced off against the Storm. While Chicago continued with its troubled run, Chi-town Barbie once again recorded a double-double. However, at one point in the game, Reese’s knack for rebounds seemingly did not sit well with a commentator.
Angel Reese Gets Trolled For Her Rebounding Skills
The 23-year-old has been facing a lot of criticism for her rebounding skills since last year. Fans have also mocked her as ‘Mebounds’ for the same. And while the Sky star has shown significant improvement with her shooting this year, it looks like Reese still needs to go a long way. During the game against Storm, announcer Dick Fain seemingly mocked the 2024 rookie’s knack for getting rebounds off her own shots.

“Angel Reese loves those missed shot offensive boards second opportunities,” Fain said. And that was not all. The announcer also added, “If Chicago’s gonna beat you, that’s how they are going to do it. They’re gonna put it up, they’re gonna miss, they’re gonna put it up again. They might miss again, but eventually they’re gonna get a bucket.”

Well, Fain might have been critical of her missed shots, but in reality, Chi-town Barbie has been quite sublime. In fact, she has averaged 53.3% while shooting from the field in August. And this is quite a jump considering the fact that Reese only had 39.1% shooting as a rookie. Surely, such an improvement in figures drew some significant praise from Tyler Marsh.

Tyler Marsh Heaps Praises On Angel Reese Despite Chicago’s Poor Run
The 23-year-old might have failed to impress Dick Fain. Thankfully, her team, and especially her coach, has been utterly pleased with how things have turned out. Even Kamilla Cardoso recently lauded Reese’s rebounding impact. Speaking about her performance this season, Tyler Marsh put a lot of stress on her grit. After the game against the Las Vegas Aces, Reese stood tall amidst the ruins, dropping 17 rebounds and 10 points.

“[Angel] Reese is one of and on her way to being the greatest rebounder in basketball history,” said Marsh.
Well, looking at the stats, Reese has some impressive numbers. The Sky star is the leading rebounder in the league with a 22.7% rebounding rate.
