The WNBA draft may still be months away, but speculations are already going around for the possibility of Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers reuniting at the Dallas Wings. Former UConn star Gabby Williams didn’t like the Fudd-Bueckers’ possible reunion as she wants the draft prospect to play for her Seattle team.
While she is thinking about her team so much and already trying to recruit the top prospect, the franchise is also showing love for the forward and nominates her for a special accolade.

Completing her fifth season with the Storm, the player delivered a well-rounded performance and was even in the talks for the most improved player award in the 2025 WNBA season. Though Veronica Burton beat her in the honor, she has a chance to capture an even more prestigious award.
The Seattle Storm nominated Williams for the Women’s Sports Star of the Year award. The Seattle Sports Commission chooses the winner via fan votes and will declare its 91st winner on March 13 in a special event at Seattle Convention Center.

The award is Seattle Sports Commission’s flagship annual celebration honoring Washington’s top athletes, coaches, leaders, and sports stories. There are many awards in the annual event, including Sport Star of the Year for men’s and women’s sports, to special honors like the Humanitarian Award, Royal Brougham Sports Legend Award, and Sports Equity & Inclusion Award.

While her defensive game remained intact (and improved a bit), he offensive plays were also eye-catching. She recorded her career best scoring numbers with 11.6 points per game, shooting 35% from the range and above 87% from the free throw line.
Not only that, the payer improved her stats in assists and rebounds, showing off her best version on the court so far.
