The Indiana Fever is in the semifinal, and now they are looking at nothing but the title. With Stephanie White sending a powerful message to the Fever before their playoff run commenced, it seems like the pep talk has paid off. Going up with the Atlanta Dream was not an easy task at all. In fact, looking at how both teams have performed in the regular season, the Dream looked like a champion prospect. And now, with the Las Vegas Aces waiting next, Sophie Cunningham spilled the beans on how Indiana is looking to stop the likes of A’ja Wilson and co.
Cunningham has been a live wire in the field ever since she joined the Fever earlier this season. Unfortunately, while her MCL injury will prevent her from competing any further, the Fever star is looking for ways to help her team from the sidelines. And in one such attempt, Cunningham spilled the beans on Fever’s secret to success.
Sophie Cunningham Wants To Cut Off A’Ja Wilson
A’ja Wilson recently picked up her record fourth WNBA MVP award. And her impeccable form will be one of the biggest headaches for Stephanie White and her side. Looking at the tough matchup coming up, Cunningham pointed out that Aliyah Boston will guard Wilson. And at the moment, these two are the best players from both teams. Thus, while it would be a cracker of a matchup, the 29-year-old further went on to reveal yet another secret.

“And the key to really stopping them is stopping A’ja. I think the matchup between AB and A’ja was huge. Huge, huge. So we’ve still got to key in on that. But honestly, we are just a completely different team, and so are they… Their momentum and the way they’re playing is different from when we played them. And then our roster is completely, completely different,” said Cunningham.
An interesting fact is that the Fever has held the upper hand over the Aces this year with a 2-1 record. However, back then, things were different, as the Fever was not as depleted as they are now. Meanwhile, after their historic win, Cunningham boldly stated that their opponents flew into a rage over the Fever’s semifinal qualification.

Sophie Cunningham Claims WNBA Opponents Are Enraged
Game 3 for the Indiana Fever was an emotional roller coaster. With the team looking to push through, the game was extremely tight. With the momentum swinging like a pendulum, White’s team ultimately managed to clinch the victory. As the score read 87-85, the entire team erupted in joy. Meanwhile, having a lot of emotions gushing through her mind, Cunningham decided to drop a bomb. She pointed out that all the other teams are unhappy because Fever was ‘not supposed’ to be in the semis.

“The league is so mad that we won, because we are literally not supposed to be here at all, and that just fuels our fire even more,” said Cunningham.
Now, this was an extremely controversial and bold comment. As the team prepares for the semifinal, such comments will surely act as fuel for Cunningham’s teammates. Thus, fans now eagerly wait to see what happens next.
