Known for her “feisty” and “sassy” gameplay, Sophie Cunningham might be an aggressive defender with a strong presence on the court, but there is another side to her off the court, too. It was evident in one of her recent acts.
With the player constantly targeted for her scoring drought, her recent two performances were a confidence booster. Another emotional booster for her would be a post from one of the NBA coaches. It also includes the Pacers’ superstar Tyrese Haliburton.

While the former Mercury star dazzled on the court, she also showcased a grand gesture for her coaching staff member. As per the post by Drew Hanlen, NBA skills coach, the Indiana Pacers superstar and his girlfriend, along with the Fever forward, took care of his niece and nephew.
In his post, he wrote, “Big thanks to @tyresehaliburton, @jadeeejones, & @sophie_cham for taking care of my niece & nephew at today’s Fever game!” (Via IG/sophiecham)

The 6-ft-1 forward reposted it on her Instagram story, letting fans know about Haliburton’s great deed. He shared their on-court photo with the former Missouri star. While she might be criticized for her comments and actions, she truly has a heart of gold, which has hardly been discussed.
The 28-year-old basketball player is also active in philanthropic work also. She works on supporting families facing health crises and promoting youth sports in the Midwest.

Sophie Cunningham Had Nothing But Love For Fans
The fierce player on the court never misses a chance to connect with her fans via social media. She regularly provides updates on the professional and personal front, too. After a win over the Dallas Wings, she shared some glimpses from the game. She also congratulated her teammates for their performances.
In one of the story posts, she shared the scores of all five players with double-figures. In addition to her, Kelsey Mitchell (20), Caitlin Clark (14), Natasha Howard (18), and Aliyah Boston (17) all crossed the 10-point mark.

Also, she shared her views on the Fever fanbase, lauding their support in the home games.
“I think we have the best fans in the whole W, and I know every team says that, but they’re lying because I’m telling the truth. We have to protect our homecourt, and when we can fire up these fans, they’re feisty, they’re sassy, they’re kinda just like me,” she wrote in the story (Via IG/sophiecham).
It was another packed game at the Gainbridge Arena, which will host the 2025 WNBA All-Star game this weekend.
