The name Caitlin Clark immediately gets the WNBA realm excited. After all, coming from the Iowa Hawkeyes, the 24-year-old completely changed the narrative of women’s basketball. However, following her stellar rookie season, the Indiana Fever star had a bad year in the office.
Recovering from her groin strain, Clark had several fun activities in the offseason. But as a brand new WNBA season is coming up, it’s now time for her to buckle up. With the Fever having an impressive run last year, the 2024 Rookie of the Year’s addition will only bolster their chances. And now, head coach Stephanie White has laid down her expectations for the season.

Stephanie White Wants Caitlin Clark To Enjoy Her Game
Last year was a tough one for the 24-year-old. Coming off her incredible performance in 2024, the expectations were really high in 2025. Unfortunately, her lingering groin injury created a significant barrier, compelling her to sit out after only 13 games. And this was something that hurt Clark’s feelings significantly. Thus, as the 2026 season approaches, the Fever star is determined to be a part of every practice drill.
However, as she pushes forward, the head coach limits her workload and keeps her mentally fresh. Thus, according to White, she wants the 2-time WNBA All-Star to enjoy her game.
“I just want to see her play with joy. It was such a hard year a year ago. When you’re going through injury, it’s tough. … I want to see her enjoy the opportunity that we have and this team that we have,” said White.

Surely, a stress-free Clark would be a dangerous prospect to deal with for her opponents. Especially when she is already in some fiery form. Playing for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup, the 24-year-old earned the TISSOT MVP honors.
Meanwhile, the Fever head coach also dropped an honest update about the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup champion.
How Is Caitlin Clark Performing In Her Training Camps?

Caitlin Clark is determined to make a definitive impact this season. And following her recovery, she has attended several training camps. While her Team USA stint yielded some exceptional results, the Fever star has also participated in some grueling drills for her WNBA side.
Giving a heads up on the same, the head coach said, “We also want to be smart. She doesn’t need every rep in practice. We want to continue to ramp her up. It’s a long season, 44 games, and we play a heavy cadence of games in a week.”

White further added, “I don’t want to say ease her into it, because she’s ready for camp, but we want to make sure that we manage the reps, and what kinds of reps she’s getting, just to build her up so that she’s ready to go, and we don’t have any kind of questions about that.”
Thus, with a lot going on, fans will be eager to find out how things pan out.
