Recent reports suggested that Caitlin Clark is edging towards recovery. However, looking at the current form Indiana Fever is in, it might be a little late now for Clark to salvage her team’s season. Just weeks back, the Fever were looking solid with five back-to-back victories. Sitting pretty at
number six, Fever’s playoff hopes looked sorted. But with their recent dip in form, the playoff is looking quite a distant possibility. And this has prompted head coach Stephanie White to come up with an alarming message.
The Indiana Fever recently faced off against the Minnesota Lynx. Riding on the back of a stellar 32-point return game from Napheesa Collier, the Lynx emerged victorious. Following the 97-84 loss, the Fever slumped further. And with the playoffs seemingly sliding away, White made an attempt to address the situation.
Stephanie White Wants Her Team To Focus One Day At A Time
White, bringing grim news for the Caitlin Clark fans, has been the norm this season. And with her team slipping to eighth position, White stressed how important it was to pull up their socks, or it would be too late. Speaking to the media, White stated that her team must keep calm in such a complicated state. She also does not want to get too caught up in the playoff race and lose the momentum in the process.

“I think for us, we got to focus on one day at a time. We got to control what we can control, and that’s our next opponent, right? That’s going to be Seattle coming into our place, which is a big one. It’s a big one,” said White.

The Fever head coach stressed that they must always be locked on the game at hand. Otherwise, trying to put too much on the platter might ultimately hinder things. Fever will next take on the Seattle Storm on Tuesday. And while they had a 78-74 win last time, they would surely want a repeat. Meanwhile, even in dark times, White seems to have found a silver lining in Lexie Hull.
Lexie Hull Earns Stephanie White’s Praise After An Aggressive Performance Against Minnesota Lynx
The Minnesota Lynx surely is looking like a champion material at the moment. And they also secured a convincing victory against the Fever. However, their road to glory was not a bed of roses. In fact, there were several thorns too, to make Lynx’s sailing perilous. And right at the helm of things was Lexie Hull. With the Fever fielding a depleted side, the 25-year-old ran riot into Minnesota’s defense. Hull dropped a career-high 23 points to put up a stern fight for the Lynx.

This was better than her previous best of 22 points, which Hull dropped against the Seattle Storm last August. Looking at her performance, head coach White could stop herself from applauding the effort.
“She was aggressive. She was hunting shots, she was aggressive to the rim. You know, she knew we needed another scorer on the floor and because of the attention that Kelsey and AB [Aliyah Boston] get, she was getting free and she was hunting shots,” said White. Thus, it looks like there are still plenty of opportunities for Fever. All they need to do is keep calm and grab’em all.
