The Indiana Fever aims to extend its 2025 season with a win against the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA semifinal series. While the side won the opening game, they still remained ‘underdog’ in the series. A key reason for this is Caitlin Clark’s season-ending injury.
Team veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell gave Clark flowers for transforming the Indiana Fever into a playoff contender. Now, the former Iowa star is missed in the big games, affecting the outcomes. As per HC Stephanie White, CC’s absence affected Aliyah Boston the most.
Stephanie White Thinks Caitlin Clark’s Absence Affected Aliyah Boston
Aliyah Boston didn’t like Clark joining the Indiana Fever team in the 2024 WNBA draft, as she mentioned in one of her interviews. But the pair quickly formed a formidable frontcourt-backcourt duo controlling the game. They have a special pregame ritual, highlighting their special bond since 2024. And now with the star playmaker out of rotation, AB is doing it all for her side.

The Fever head coach feels for the former South Carolina star. Knowing the importance of the CC-AB connection for the team’s success, the 48-year-old coach pointed out how Clark’s absence affected the team’s gameplay.
“Aliyah Boston has been a rock for us. She’s just steady. She’s probably been the one player who is most affected by all the changes that we’ve had. I mean, most of our change has been primary ball handlers. And so the way that she gets the ball, the way that she gets touches, the spacing on the floor that is created with those players who are now on the sideline,” White told Kristina Williams on the ‘In Case You Missed it’ podcast.
The HC added that the former South Carolina star continues to impact games by doing anything and everything that her coaches ask her to do. She acted as a facilitator, a scorer, an elite defender, and even a rebounder. Amid these plays, Boston boasted about the Indiana Fever’s strong team chemistry as the injuries impacted their season.
