Against all odds, the Fever miraculously forced Game 5 against the Las Vegas Aces. Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston delivered a clinical performance in Game 4 to extend the Indiana Fever’s season. However, HC Stephanie White was not satisfied with her team.
Before the start of the playoffs, White had a strong message for her team. Now that the team is one win away from the WNBA Finals, the 49-year-old coach once again warned her players.
Stephanie White Demands More From Her Team for Game 5
The Indiana Fever is used to being in sticky situations and managed to find their way out of it. In the regular season, they waited till game number 43 to qualify for the playoffs. While in the postseason, they face the elimination situation three times in two series. Interestingly, the Fever won all three games and is now aiming for a place in the final.

This might feel like a fairy tale for many, but HC white is being realistic about the situations and warned her team ahead of another ‘elimination’ game. Reflecting on the win in Game 4, the Fever head coach said, “What we did today is not going to be enough for Tuesday.”
While Tuesday will be Game 5 of the series, the coach clearly demanded more from the side following a ‘nervy’ win. The Aces came close to a major upset with just over three minutes remaining in the game. The difference between the two teams was just three points, and the Fever needed to put in more for the final stretch of the game.

However, White was not only in ‘critic mode’ during the press conference; she even praised Kelsey Mitchell for her performance in the game.
Stephanie White Singles Out Kelsey Mitchell
Throughout the 2025 season, the former Sun coach praised players where the credit was due. She tried to get the best out of her roster and managed to keep the locker room together despite the number of superstars on the roster. While Kelsey Mitchell dropped heartfelt praise for White’s Role in the Indiana Fever’s epic run in the 2025 season, the coach also had nice words about the veteran guard.
“First and foremost, just an extreme amount of pride, for (Kelsey Mitchell). She has been through a lot with this franchise. She loves this game. I’m incredibly proud of her. I’m thankful that fans continue to recognize her greatness. (And) I’m thankful that she decided to come back and join us. She’s finally getting her flowers,” White said in the press conference.
KM scored a team-high 25 points with 45% shooting from the field and provided four assists in the game. The HC would love to see her star guard thrive in the upcoming games to lift the trophy on her return to the franchise.
