The Indiana Fever will play its first 2025 playoff game against the Atlanta Dream on September 10. The side will be without its star players, including initial squad guards like Caitlin Clark and Sydney Colson. Recently, the franchise confirmed that Damiris Dantas will miss the game against the Atlanta Dream via a social media post.
The 36-year-old guard reshared the post and hilariously took a dig at the update. The post showed six players, including Colson, were unavailable for the game against the Dream.
Sydney Colson Takes Dig At Indiana Fever’s Injury Report
No team suffered as many injuries as the Indiana Fever in the 2025 season. The franchise lost five players, including three from its initial squad and two mid-season acquisitions. The team’s back-court lineup was severely hit, as Clark, Aari McDonald, and Colson were out for the season.

The team included all of them in its injury update, to which the veteran guard took a funny jibe. She reshared the Fever post and wrote, “Weird cuz I feel fine but ‘ok’”.
Colson had been out of action since August 7. The former Texas guard and McDonald’s suffered injuries in a game against the Phoenix Mercury. Colson played in just one minute before leaving the game due to a torn left ACL. After inspection, the franchise confirmed her unavailability on the very next day.

The 2011 draft pick underwent surgery in early August. Following the surgery, she went on Instagram Live from the hospital to thank fans for their support and update them on her recovery. While her funny jibe attracted much love from fans, her ‘easy-going nature’ inspired the team and kept them going in the challenging situations. Fans showed love on the star’s unfiltered social media posts and interviews. Fans even reacted to Colson’s referee rant recently.
Sydney Colson Will Be A Free Agent Next Season
The Indiana Fever added several ‘championship-experienced’ players to its lineup for the 2025 season. This included two-time champion Colson, who worked as a backup playmaker for Clark. With six starts in 30 games played, Colson averaged two assists and three points per game. However, her ball-handling and playmaking skills were crucial for the second unit.
The experienced star won two WNBA championships and the Commissioner’s Cup title with the Aces. The former Texas player won one more Commissioner’s Cup title with the Fever.
Signing a one-year contract during the 2024 offseason, the former Aces guard will now be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. At the end of the 2025 season, the Fever team will be left with three players – Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Mykayla Timson.
